Mattie is amazing! He is growing out of the pain as we progress through the physical theraphy daily! He let me put on his "arm straightener" without much more than a wimper the last two nights. He is more willing to do arm stretches as well, when he is distracted. He still hates wound changes on his elbow area, so please pray for healing. It is hard to get him to bathe in the bathtub, he refuses to sit in the water or shower. We end up just washing the wounds every other day, which is ok with the Doctor. His hip area is healing so well! I think by the time we go in for our Wednesday visit we will be doing minimal wrapping of that area! His elbow, is still a concern though. The back part of the joint is looking really good but the middle area is pretty torn up with all the theraphy we have to do on it. Thanks for your continued concern and prayers. We so appreciate our prayer warriers!!
At church on Sunday, Joey spoke of Hope (looking forward to something you really expect to happen) and I am leaning on the hope that God will heal Mattie's elbow without surgery. I need to hold fast to that Hope and trust the great physician to heal him.

Heidi, your strength amazes me. The whole situation with Mattie has been such a testimony in my life about how The Lord will never give us more then we can handle and that he really is the Great Physician. I pray that the Lord will bless your family abundantly.
Heidi,
I sooooo enjoyed having Mattie and Jayden in class on Sunday. It was amazing to hear both of them talk about Mattie's injury, and how God is healing Mattie. I can't remember what I already told you... but Mattie told the class the whole story. And, of course, showed us the wounds that are healing soooo well. I am still amazed at how beautifully his knee is healing.
I was also so proud of how he kept up with the other kids. While he favored his left arm, he totally used both arms when he was playing. And he ran with the other boys, definately keeping up and with hardly a limp. He fell at one point (out of the desk-chair). He didn't fall on his arm (praise God), and I was so proud of him because he just got up and went and played.
More than anything, I was thankful to see his joy! I felt like it was such a testimony of how God has protected his heart and used this time to grow Mattie's faith. At snack, I asked if anyone wanted to pray and before I could tell the kids to bow their heads, Mattie was saying, "Dear God..." He thanked God for EVERYTHING. He thanked God for each person in our class, by name... and since he didn't know a few names, he then added the all-encompassing, "Thank you for everyone in class". I believe he thanked God for you twice! I remember telling you about his prayer in class the day he got hurt (before he got hurt, obviously). It was such a blessing to hear him pray again, and STILL be filled with joy and gratitude in his prayers.
I know that God is going to use this in Mattie's life for years to come. I realize I have just left the world's longest comment (sorry), but I wanted to share with your other readers how amazing I think Mattie is!
Thank you for letting me teach Mattie and Jayden. They are both awesome boys!

I enjoyed your world's longest comment Vicky!!! It was awesome to read that. Heidi is such a big part of developing that joy and thankfulness in his life!
I am trusting God with you for a good Drs. report tomorrow.
